Bill Walsh and a team from WCSC TV 5 recently journeyed to McIntyre, Georgia to visit the hometown of Honey Boo Boo, the latest reality show sensation that has taken America by storm. Kudos to the Lowcountry’s news leader on this broadcasting coup. I had almost given up on WCSC after their terrible report about the July 4th Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest but, with this piece of journalistic excellence, they are back on top!
My inside source tells me that this interview almost didn’t happen because someone (I won’t name names) in the vagabond motorcade misread the map that was provided and took a wrong turn, winding up in Muttsville then having to hook south through Middlefart before heading down road 29 to McIntyre (see map below).
The news crew was an hour and a half late but stayed in touch with town officials who managed to keep a welcoming committee from disbanding before the Charleston news team arrived.
That’s when the fun began! Thanks again to all my friends at WCSC for your outstanding public service in keeping the Lowcountry’s citizens informed and for plowing a steady course on the cutting edge of infotainment!
